KEEP THE 5 STRAIGHTEST AND STRONGEST CANES WHILE OPENING UP THE CENTER
THEN LOCATE THE PARTS OF THE STEM
ALL CUTS WILL BE MADE JUST ABOVE THE NODE
THEN LOCATE THE PARTS OF THE STEM
CUTTING AT THE 5TH LEAFLET NODE IS NECESSARY TO PROMOTE A FLOWERING STEM

Hi - Thanks for your great visuals on rose pruning. You referred readers to your post on putting roses to bed; it would be helpful to give readers the date of the post so they can find it in your archives. Thanks again for the pruning help. I inherited some woebegone roses and they are responding well so far, but now it is time to give them some pruning...I feel much more confident now.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pictures/diagrams! I've got some old antique roses that need a good pruning. I can prune perennials until the cows come home but I've always been confused when and how to prune my roses. You've helped me a lot!
